Lying here and missing you,
I wonder how you are
And whether you are missing me too.
I wish upon a star.
My wish to have you always near.
Close at hand and by my side.
That it is not your wish I fear.
A fear I barely hide.
Your voice cleanses the soul
And lifts spirits on high.
Without you the nights are cold
And the loneliness a sigh,
Bittersweet against my ear.
It seeps along my veins.
I try to fight and not to hear,
But it has me in it's reigns.
It doesn't mean I love you less,
Or doubt your love for me.
It means I'm human more or less,
And of that I'll never be free.
